Nipple correction
Abnormalities in the area of the areola (the darker skin around the nipple) or the nipple itself are not so rare. The areola can be of different sizes, the nipple may also vary in shape or pulled inwards by shortened milk ducts (so-called inverted nipples). In addition, after breast cancer often a reconstruction of the nipples is necessary to fully restore shape and appearance of the breast.
Through small and simple procedures it is possible to provide a reshaping of contour and size of the areolas or nipple reduction. When performing the nipple correction surgery the milk ducts need to be cut so that the nipples can be everted. After surgery special dressings needs to be applied for 3 weeks. Removal of stitches takes place after 2 weeks.
