Many people struggle with stubborn pockets of fat despite a healthy diet and regular exercise. In the long run it can become very frustrating and may cause a negative well-being.

The original CoolSculpting® method is the only non-surgical fat reduction procedure that has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The CoolSculpting®technology uses controlled cooling (cryolipolysis) causing your body to naturally process the fat and eliminate dead cells without damaging other cells and surrounding tissues or nerves. As a result of the treatment these frozen fat cells are automatically disposed through the body’s lymphatic system. The number of fat cells are therefore reduced and the treated fat cells are gone forever.

The following body areas can be treated:

- upper and lower abdomen
- inner and outer thigh
- upper arms
- hips
- back
- flank
- calves
- knee
- chin
- male breast (so-called lipomastia)

Depending on the area being treated 2-4 sessions of each approximately 60 minutes are required. There is no involvement of anaesthesia and after treatment you can immediately return to your normal activities. Usually no downtime needs to be taken into consideration.

The success of the treatment varies per individual, as this depends on physical condition and metabolism. Most patients experience their results after 3 weeks; results from the whole treatment are visible after about 3 months.

The CoolSculpting®method is not suitable for all patients; e.g. patients taking blood thinner medication, diseases related to skin, liver, heart and also fat tissue. Those who are undergoing chemotherapy or expecting a child should not consider this procedure either. Your health always has priority. Only CoolSculpting® by Zeltiq is cleared by FDA clearance and it has received European CE mark approval for medical devices. It is equipped with special sensors (freeze detect technology) which detects potential adverse events including the freezing of epidermal and dermal tissue.
