Hand tumors
The term "tumor" is referred to every kind of swelling in medicine and it does not necessarily mean it is malignant or benign. In fact, the vast majority of hand tumors are benign or non-cancerous.
The most common tumor in the hand is a ganglion cyst, also known as bible cyst or bible bump. Ganglion cysts most often occur around joints and are benign. These cysts filled with synovial fluid can be removed through a max. 1 hour surgery under local anaesthetic.
After surgery one week of immobilization is recommended.
